A Whole Bunch of Sevens
Sg, this song has become something of an obsession for you. And I can see why — it’s kind of catchy. You’ve started trying to sing along in the way someone sings along when they don’t really know the lyrics (“uh mmm mmm sevens ah um mmm living room”). Below Seven is a song that you discovered you liked today. We listened to it on the way home, and then when you were getting ready for bed you were walking around your room picking things up and singing “pick it up! pick it up!”
(Because YouTube is a medium only slightly more permanent than a sand mandala, and for future reference, the first tune is “Seven” by They Might Be Giants. The second is “Pick It Up, Lay It In The Cut” by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.)

Indivisible Sevens
Man, that sevens song and video is the material of nightmares for adults: these number creatures entering your house from every orifice, calling your friends to inform them of their breach and your defensive weaknesses, and eating all your cake. It’s enough to wake up screaming, “Get ‘em off me!!”
I’m still looking forward to the TMBG kids programming, though.
Primes
Adam is really into that one, too, to the extent that he randomly demands that I draw “Hello Sevens” on the MegaFetcher, in the snow, in layers of filth, etc. He occasionally mixes it up by asking for other Hello numbers: “Papa, now draw a Hello Eleven”. He digs prime numbers.
(In case SG ever makes similar demands, a Hello 11 is just two cyclopic Hello 1’s.)
If you’re not aware of Yo Gabba Gabba, I can recommend it. I think of it now because they have a tidying up song with the catchy refrain, “Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, now!”
Duly Noted
It hadn’t occurred to me to add the sevens to the short list of things I can draw for Sg. My drawing vocabulary is pretty small, so I’m grateful for the new addition.
