In the first part, the camera’s display is turned around to face Sg and me. For the second part, it may be helpful to know that we’re still working on helping Sg understand that we don’t feed the doggies from the table.
We’ve been putting off giving her this leftover valentine’s sucker for days. In the morning, it’s been “you can have it after school.” In the evening she has forgotten about it until close enough to bedtime that we say “not before bed; you can have it tomorrow.”
Tonight we ran out of excuses and ended up learning that she calls a lollipop a “suckerball”. Huh.
She’s been modeling counting for some time, but only yesterday seemed to make the one-to-one correspondence connection between the words and the number of things being counted. Next stop: Gödel’s incompleteness theorems!
(Please feel free to not comment on the stubbiness of my fingers or Sg’s raging case of bedhead.)
We got these cheapo plastic chairs from Ikea for the kids at Sg’s birthday party to sit on. I’ve checked with AT to be sure, and she agrees that Sg has spent the vast majority of her discretionary free time over the past two day stacking and restacking these chairs. It’s a funny passion, or a sign of serious mental illness, one.
I know I’ve basically done this same video before, but I love October, and I love the pre-dawn, and I thought it might be fun to do it again. The video is too long for Flickr, which only allows 90 seconds. At 90 seconds, things were too sped up to make any sense. Also, some of the labels didn’t end up exactly where I’m pretty sure I put them (thanks a bundle, Adobe Premiere Elements), but there you are.
A couple of movies for your movie-watching pleasure. I actually did take (roughly) a video a day in July, by the way. I just never got around to processing most of them. These are from today. In the first one, Sg is more interested in playing with the video camera than in singing for it. Also, poor Grace the cat.
I’ve been lax about processing and posting the daily July videos, but please be assured that I am capturing such videos. In an effort to catch up, I’ll try to post two a day for the next few days. That way, we’ll be caught up on the 16th, and halfway through the month to boot! Ready? Pay attention — here’s July ninth and tenth:
I don’t know why I like it so much, but I really enjoy watching Sg’s wake-up process. It’s a little hard to hear, but AT says “Donald Trump hair”.
Sg was probably too tired for this stop at La Fonda on the way home, but she held up pretty well until time to get in the car.
She has developed a preference for not being in the car, all other things being equal, and she occasionally expresses this preference through fit throwing involving going completely rigid (so that she makes a basically isosceles triangle with the car seat). I was hoping to get one of those fits on film, but on this evening we just got tired crying. Probably better for all involved, I guess.
