Clarence Carter - Patches
“Papa used to tease me about it cuz deep down inside he was hurt cuz he’d done all he could.” What’s not to love about a song that’s so Forrest Gump honest (no metaphor or allusion here) and so reverent and loving about what sounds like a shitty childhood?
My best idea all day
A band using only sounds from old Atari consoled (8-bit music) that only does covers of sort of whiny indie-pop bands called “Death Cab for Q-bert”.
Same way you eat an elephant
Until watching an episode of the Wire last night, I’d always heard the “eating an elephant” adage used as a form of encouragement, the message being that no job is too big if you have the time and motivation to get it done. It occurs to me that the adage might not be so encouraging to those who can’t eat solids.

We’ve tried (I’ve tried, really) peek-a-boo before, but without much success. That is, I was successfully able to meet my own performance goals, but these were apparently insufficient to get the response I wanted. But today - peek a boo! She looked a lot happier about it when I didn’t have the camera in front of my face, honest.
